I didn’t end up starting Project 333 on March 1st. Quite honestly, I didn’t have the time to whittle things down and make decisions about what my 33 items would be. The next run of the Project began on April 1, so I decided I would be on the same schedule as most.
I have whittled things down, although not exactly to 33 items. I have everything that is an option hanging in my closet. After I wear something I move it to the other side of my closet that, thanks to the Project, is currently empty.
I am not sure I will be able to stick to 33 items. This is primarily because I layer so much. Each day I wear at least three items of clothing, shoes, and a jacket. I also have to dress professionally for work and then I have clothes for the evenings and weekends. These are not items that can easily transition from one purpose to another.
I am keeping track though. I have a piece of paper that I have numbered and each time I wear something different I add it to the list. We have just completed the fifth day and I have already worn nineteen items.
I am glad I am participating. I do think that I look much more put together than I did before I started the Project. And I have found it true what people say about receiving compliments. I have gotten compliment after compliment about how good I look. That definitely makes a girl feel good!
Small Notebook has a great post today: How to downsize your wardrobe with common sense. I love this line: My current wardrobe is the size that most people take on vacation. I am not there yet, but I am getting much closer and it is a great goal to have. Project 333 is definitely helping me get there.
