Jewelry

I think I have every piece of jewelry that I have ever had.  Mind you, we are not talking about high quality items, but lots of little things that I have picked up or been given over the past 25 years or so.

I don’t wear very many pieces of jewelry at all.  I stick to pearl earrings pretty much every day.  From time to time I switch them out for diamond earrings and maybe a pair of hoops, but that happens rarely.  As for necklaces, I have about four that I have in rotation, but most days I don’t wear one at all.

One of the drawers in my nightstand is stuffed full or jewelry.  I never open it or go to retrieve anything from it.  When I heard that Dress for Success also takes accessories, I realized this was the perfect opportunity for me to give the majority of these things a new home.

I went through every piece of jewelry.  Thankfully I had saved all those little bags that buttons come in over the years and was able to put one or two pairs of earrings in each bag.  I bagged necklaces and bracelets and pins.

In the end I filled up a gallon size Ziploc bag with jewelry.  I am thrilled that these items can be a little extra touch for the women who benefit from Dress for Success.  Just another step toward Project 333.
